Hajagafar Rising Youth felicitate Dimasa students in West Karbi Anglong

KHERONI, May 10: In a commendable move to foster education and community growth, the Hajagafar Rising Youth organised a grand felicitation ceremony on Saturday in Hajagafar, West Karbi Anglong. The event aimed to honour the academic excellence of students from the Dimasa community and provide them with a roadmap for their future careers.

A wave of celebration swept through Hajagafar as the Hajagafar Rising Youth organisation hosted the felicitation programme. The event saw the participation of over 150 students belonging to the Dimasa community, hailing from nearly 30 villages across the greater Hajagafar and Lanka regions.

The ceremony specifically recognised students who achieved success in the recently announced HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) and HS (Higher Secondary) examinations, securing first, second or third divisions. As a token of appreciation and encouragement, the organisation presented the achievers with traditional gamosas, certificates of merit and document file covers.

Beyond the awards, the organisers emphasised the holistic development of the youth. A dedicated career guidance session was a key highlight of the day. Experts provided detailed insights into various professional paths, including commerce and finance, sports and athletics, modern agriculture and online business and entrepreneurship.

The session aimed to empower students to become self-reliant and create a positive impact on society by choosing paths aligned with their goals.

The event, presided over by Bikash Dibra, president of Hajagafar Rising Youth was graced by several notable personalities including Bishnuram Nunisa, vice president of the Assam Olympic Association; Provid Langthasa, lecturer at Joya Gogoi College; Dr Lohit Daulagupu, health and medical officer; Rajakul Islam, director of e-Fish Market & Aqua Blue Global Pvt. Ltd and Firoz Nunisa, official from the Department of Industries and Commerce.

Local residents of the greater Hajagafar area turned out in large numbers to support the students, marking a day of pride and inspiration for the entire community.
