DIPHU, Aug 19: One died on the spot after a head-on collision between a police vehicle bearing registration number AS-30-9028 and CT-100 motorcycle bearing registration number AS-09A-2264 at 9 km Lumding road.
The incident occurred around 8:30 am here. The victim has been identified as Bidya Hanse of 5 km, Lumding Road.
The body has been brought here at Diphu Medical College & Hospital for postmortem report.
Senior secondary school gets sanitary pad vending machine

DIPHU, Aug 19: The management of JS Academy Senior Secondary School, Bakalia installed a sanitary pad vending machine at the school premise on Friday last. During the installation programme, the school authority said menstrual periods and sanitary napkins are still considered forbidden topics.
The issue becomes more serious in rural areas where young girls are found to be more vulnerable. To address the issue effectively, a sanitary pad vending machine was installed on the school premises. The girl students were educated on using the new device.
