BOKAJAN, July 14: Acting on a tip-off, the police in Karbi Anglong conducted a successful operation at Manipuri Basti, under the jurisdiction of Khatkhati Police Station. Led by SDPO John Das, the police team executed a search warrant on a house, resulting in the discovery of multiple soap cases filled with 250 grams of heroin and a cash amount of Rs 25,000 in the possession of three individuals, who were subsequently arrested.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Khusida Begum (33), the wife of Ramjan Ali, residing in Chaparmukh under the jurisdiction of Kampur police station in Nagaon district; Kutub Uddin (25), the son of Ali Hussain, residing in Kampur Ghilani, also under the jurisdiction of Kampur police station in Nagaon district; and Fariz Uddin (22), the son of the late Faizul Haque, residing in Sabaspur, Morajhar under the jurisdiction of Morajhar police station in Hojai district.
Notably, Khusida Begum had been previously arrested in connection with a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).
Further investigations will be conducted to unravel any potential networks involved in the illicit drug trade, as authorities strive to ensure the safety and security of the community.
