Himanta Biswa Sarma condoles ex-Uttarakhand CM Khanduri’s death

GUWAHATI, May 19: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday condoled the death of former Uttarakhand CM Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, terming it a loss of an experienced public leader for the nation.

He said Khanduri’s contributions to public welfare will always be remembered.

The senior BJP leader died at a private hospital in Dehradun on Tuesday following prolonged illness. He was 91.

“Major General (Retd.) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri Ji, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, exemplified dedication, discipline and service to the nation in both his military career and public life,” Sarma said in a post on X.

Sarma said Khanduri’s contributions to Uttarakhand’s development and public welfare will always be remembered. “With his passing, the nation has lost an experienced public leader. May God grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the family during this hour of grief,” the Chief Minister added. (PTI)
