June 19, Wednesday: In an exceedingly tragic sequence of events, Shiladitya Chetia, a senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer serving as the secretary of the home and political department in the Assam government, died by suicide on Tuesday. The entire Assam Police family is in deep grief,” said the Assam Police chief.
