GUWAHATI, May 14: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday visited Kamakhya Temple atop the Nilachal Hills and offered prayers for the well-being of the state and its people for the next five years of his tenure.
Sarma told reporters after praying that he sought blessings for the NDA government’s second term in office so the journey of development could continue.
“I offered prayers to seek Ma Kamakhya’s blessings so that we can take Assam forward on all fronts, and I am confident that the state will make all-round progress,” he added.
The chief minister also posted on X, “Mother Kamakhya is supreme, the mother of the universe, and we are forever grateful for her blessings”.
“May Mother’s boundless grace always remain upon our government. May Mother grant us the strength to fulfil our resolve to make Assam developed and secure”, he added.
Sarma was sworn in as the chief minister of Assam for the second consecutive term on May 12. (PTI)
