The ‘Hindu Diwas’ was celebrated across the country under the aegis of the Union ministry of youth affairs and sports.

The celebration was chaired by Chandan Sahu, principal of the Modern English School.  A floral tribute was offered on the portrait of Swami Vivekananda and traditional lamps were lit by guests and resource persons present.

Vice principal of the school, Manoj Chetry said that Hindi is an Indo-Aryan language, written in the Devanagari script and recognized as the official language of India. It is one of the Union government’s two official languages, alongside English, and one of the 22 scheduled languages of India. Hindi Diwas aims to promote and propagate this official language, while serving as a patriotic reminder of the country’s shared roots and unity among its diverse population.

The programme was graced by assistant teachers of the school Vivek Rajbhar and Vikash Chauhan, Nehru Yuva Kendra member Sanjit Harijan and president of Social Development Organization, Dhanraj Harijan. More than 80 youths participated in the programme.
