Hojai SP suspends SI for abusing scribe

HOJAI, Nov 20: Acting on a complaint received from a scribe, namely Shiv Dayal Singh, the superintendent of police of Hojai district, Barun Purkayastha suspended Bhaskar Bora, a police officer of Hojai police station.
As per information, SI Bora allegedly abused the journalist.
According to sources, the suspended officer is a sub-inspector of Hojai police station. The journalist, Shivdayal Singh, accused Bora of ill-treating and abusing him.
Singh said that he was brought to police station illegally and was tortured in the wee hours of Friday.
Following the incident, a written complaint was lodged by the media persons along with the victim Shivdayal Singh on Saturday afternoon, based on which the SP ordered for suspension of the accused SI.
The immediate action of SP was appreciated by the media persons of Hojai district.
