DIPHU, Dec 1: In a focused drive toward enhancing educational infrastructure, Howraghat MLA Darsing Ronghang on Saturday conducted an on-site inspection of the 50-bedded Assam-type hostel buildings under construction at Karkok Higher Secondary School. The project is part of the “Dhartii Abha Janjatiya Utkarsh Gram Yojana” of Samagra Shiksha, Assam, aimed at providing safe and modern residential facilities for students from tribal and rural communities.
During the inspection, the MLA closely examined the construction progress, reviewing foundational works, structural layout and adherence to technical standards. He instructed the contractor to rectify and strengthen the foundation in strict accordance with the approved engineering plans to ensure durability and safety for decades.
Speaking to officials at the site, Ronghang stressed the importance of high-quality workmanship in projects meant for students’ welfare. He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, accountability and long-term planning in all developmental initiatives. “This hostel will be a crucial support system for our students,” Ronghang said, adding that the infrastructure must be safe, durable and truly beneficial for the community.
The inspection highlights the MLA’s proactive approach in ensuring that government schemes translate into tangible benefits, reflecting Karbi Anglong’s ongoing push toward improved educational facilities and brighter opportunities for youth.
