HPCF marks 10th foundation day

BOKAJAN, Dec 15: The Hill People Cultural Forum (HPCF) observed its 10th foundation day at the Bokajan Sports Association Stadium here on Monday.

The programme began with the hoisting of the HPCF flag in the morning, followed by a motorcycle rally from Vomulangso to Bokajan that witnessed participation from a large number of people.

A meeting held in connection with the occasion was presided over by HPCF chairman Laichan Engleng and attended by general secretary Dhiraj Diphusa.

The chief executive member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang, attended as the chief guest along with Bokajan MLA Darsing Ronghang and KAAC executive members Surjya Rongphar, Madhuram Lekthe and Lunsing Teron.

Addressing the gathering, Engleng said that 27 tribes and communities had come together to form the cultural organisation and that members from all these communities participated in the foundation day celebrations, reflecting unity and cultural harmony.
