TEZPUR, Nov 5: Residents and community groups in the greater Chandmari area of Tezpur came together for a collective initiative aimed at maintaining cleanliness and promoting hygiene within their neighborhood. The Chandmari Nagarik Manch and Nari Pragati Sangha orchestrated a robust cleanliness drive and an extensive awareness campaign, emphasizing the importance of a clean environment.

Starting at 9 am on Sunday, community members congregated at Chandmari Harihar Dham Mandir complex to kick off the cleanliness drive, demonstrating their commitment to keeping their surroundings pristine. Subsequently, a public meeting at 9:45 am engaged participants in discussions around the significance of cleanliness for overall health and well-being.

Prominent figures including retired Assam Rifles officer and social activist Prashad Thapa, esteemed litterateur KB Kaushik, lawyer Motiraj Adhikari, and respected social worker and medical officer PB Chetry, among others, addressed the audience. Their messages underscored the urgent need for united efforts in maintaining cleanliness, advocating for health and hygiene standards in the community.

During the meeting, a collective resolution was reached to conduct regular cleanliness drives, aiming to transform Tezpur-Chandmari area into one of the most hygienic and clean localities within the district. The event concluded with PB Chettry expressing gratitude and offering a vote of thanks.
