IC of Nitaipukhuri Police Outpost reserved

DEMOW, Sept 3: Partha Chutia, in-charge (IC) of Nitaipukhuri Police Outpost, has been placed under reserve closure following allegations of assaulting a youth named Akash Gogoi, a resident of Garhbhanga Gaon near Demow, on August 31. The incident occurred after Akash Gogoi was involved in a head-on collision with a vehicle belonging to the Nitaipukhuri Police Outpost at Sukanpukhuri near Demow.

Due to the severity of his injuries, Akash Gogoi was referred to Dibrugarh for better treatment. Additionally, it is alleged that Akash Gogoi’s aunt was also mistreated by Partha Chutia. In response to these allegations, the Sivasagar SP Office ordered the reserve closure of Partha Chutia on Monday, and a couple of jawans from the Nitaipukhuri Police Outpost have also been transferred.
