Illegal Weapon From Residence Of GMC Chief Engineer Recovered

GUWAHATI, March 23: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Cell has recovered one handgun, one air gun, and 10 rounds of 22 ammunition during a search operation at the arrested Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) chief engineer Indrajit Bora’s home in Games Village in Guwahati.

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption cell has taken immediate possession of the weapons and ammunition. The anti-corruption squad officials had earlier discovered a significant quantity of cash during a thorough investigation of Bora’s home.

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption wing caught the chief engineer red-handed and took him into custody. As per reports, Bora was nabbed after he accepted 4,000 rupees from the complainant to release his security deposit.
