Independence water bottle draws ire

BOKAJAN, April 2: The Asom Jatiyatabadi Chatra Yuva Parishad (AJYCP), central committee member of Jitu Phukon said that the use of the tricolor of the Indian National Flag by the packaged bottled water ‘Independence’ has not been justified. ‘Independence’ package drinking water is a product of Reliance Consumer Products Limited.

Phukon said, “There is nothing wrong with producing bottled water and selling it in the market. But, the use of impressions similar to the India National Flag is improper. People will buy them, and after drinking the water, the bottles will be discarded anywhere they like. The bottles will be discarded as garbage, which will dishonor the colours of the national flag.”

Phukon said the matter should be looked into as soon as possible.
