GUWAHATI, July 17: To provide rescue, relief, and support to the people of Assam amidst the ongoing floods affecting the state, Indus Towers, one of the world’s largest telecom infrastructure companies, has partnered with the Assam Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) for the distribution of flood-relief materials.
Indus Towers’ team is continuously working to ensure connectivity, with ground teams reaching difficult locations using boats. Fifty field employees and 378 technicians are working around the clock to restore digital access.
Fifty employees of Indus Towers Northeast are in the field to deliver relief packages across 18 campsites – Dhubri, Silchar, Karimganj, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh, Morigaon, Bokakhat, Hojai, Boko, and Nalbari. The relief packages include water, milk, ready-to-eat food items, instant food, and torches with batteries.
Tejinder Kalra, chief operating officer of Indus Towers, said, “Our hearts are with those affected by the current situation in Assam, and together with ASDMA, we will extend our undying support to the people of the state. This is the time when everyone wants to stay connected with their families, and Indus Towers’ endeavour is to help telecom operators recover network connectivity faster by restoring our towers.”
