MORIGAON, March 24: In an effort to develop agricultural trade, a three-member team of delegates from New Zealand visited the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Jargaon, Morigaon district on Sunday. The team, led by the special agriculture trade envoy Hamish Marr, interacted with the heads of Assam Agriculture University, KVK, and the members of the farmers’ organisation ‘Poohar Agro Producer Company Ltd.’ in the conference hall of KVK, Jargaon, Morigaon.
The team included Hamish Marr – special agriculture trade envoy, Melanie Phillips – agricultural counsellor, Kethoseno Peseyie – policy adviser – Agri, Trade & Economic, and Hal Sellers – MPI India desk officer. They interacted with Virendra Mittal, IAS, state project director, ARIAS, Tej Prasad Bhusal, secretary, Agriculture, Bhaskar Pegu, IAS, director, Agriculture, Dr Bidyut Chandan Deka – vice chancellor, AAU, Jorhat, Dr Manoranjan Neog, director of Extension Education, AAU, Jorhat, Dr Virendar Kumar Yadav, resident coordinator, IRRI, Ashok Sarma, district agriculture officer, Morigaon, and Dibajyoti Hazarika, AJO, Morigaon.
The farmers’ organisation ‘Poohar Agro Producer Company Ltd.’ displayed agricultural performance through a projector in the meeting. Earlier, the foreign delegates were felicitated with a gamosa and a rhino memento each by the scientists of KVK, Jargaon, Morigaon.
