Jana Sanskritik Parishad launches poetry magazine ‘Prayash’ and poetry collection ‘Alorito Samay’

Tezpur, Nov 27: Tezpur Jana Sanskritik Parishad launched its regular poetry magazine ‘Prayash’ alongwith a book of poems penned by Runumi Sarma Goswami, a teacher of Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das Girls High School in Tezpur who has been suffering from cancer and already underwent seven chemotherapy treatments to provide her mental support to fight against the disease.

Dr. Kankan Deka distinguished writer and faculty of Darrang College inaugurated the poetry collection entitled ‘Alorito Samay’  of Runumi Sarma Goswami in a meeting held at Asomiya Club, Tezpur on Sunday which was chaired by Raju Barua, eminent poet and president of Tezpur Jana Sanskritik Parishad.

In his inaugural address Dr Kankan Deka said that a poet should always remain concern for humanity and the poems which reflect the human sorrows, problems and ailments of contemporary society easily draw the attention of the poetry lovers. ‘Prayash’ the regular poetry magazine of Jana Sanskritik Parishad  was inaugurated altogether by renowned social worker  Meenakshi Bhuyan, Dr. Bhupen Saikia, president, Tezpur Sahitya Sabha, noted writer and eminent educationist Dr. Bhubaneswar Saharia and noted playwright and director Aisharya Kakati.

In her speech Meenakshi Bhuyan lauded the efforts undertaken throughout the years by Jana Sanskritik Parishad to boost up the progressive literary scenario of the area and towards the benevolence of the society. Dr Bhubaneswar Saharia, Dr Dulal Das and Dr Bhupen Saikia also shared their views during the meeting and said that launching a book in such a way penned by the cancer patient will be an added medicine to the author for her quick recovery.

Noted educational figure Lipika Saharia recited a poem by Amulya Barua while Jibendra Mohan Goswami, Debajani Sarma and Uddipona Goswami presented songs during the programme. President of Jana Sanskritik Parishad Raju Barua welcomed the guests with his speech at the outset of the programme while Swapan Mazumder, secretary of the organisation elaborated the entire objectives of the daylong programme.
