Guwahati, July 11: As people in Assam continue to tackle floods and its consequences, the outbreak of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) on Monday claimed two more human lives – one in Barpeta and the other in Jorhat district. The National Health Mission (NHM), in its report prepared on Monday, also revealed 12 fresh cases of JE.
According to the NHM report, the symptom has claimed altogether 10 lives till Monday while 98 individuals, particularly from the flood-hit districts, have been affected so far. The fresh cases reported on Monday were – one each from Chirang, Darrang, Tinsukia, two each from Nagaon, Karimganj and Sonitpur and three from Morigaon district.
