JORHAT, July 12: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) of Jorhat, guided by P Das, District and Sessions Judge and chairman of DLSA, distributed flood relief materials to the flood-affected residents of Jhanjimukh, located on the north-eastern outskirts of Jorhat. Alongside the distribution, DLSA organised an awareness programme focusing on health and hygiene.
DLSA secretary-cum-judicial officer Devojyoti Bhuyan stated that the distribution programme was part of the legal body’s initiative, ‘Helping Hand’, and took place at Kaman Gaon, Jhanjimukh. Bhuyan reported that essential items such as sanitary pads, drinking water bottles, mosquito coils, bathing and detergent soaps, toothpaste, biscuits, and other necessities were distributed to over 100 families in the area.
Bhuyan, along with DLSA Para Legal Volunteers and staff, participated in the distribution effort and provided health and hygiene tips to the villagers to help them avoid diseases. “At this hour of need, we have extended our helping hand to people who have suffered a lot,” Bhuyan said.
