Junior officer arrested for bribery

MORIGAON, June 26:
 In a significant development, a latmandal (junior officer) of Morigaon Circle Office has been arrested by a team from the Chief Minister’s Vigilance & Anti-Corruption department on charges of bribery. The latmandal, Nabajyoti Nath, was apprehended while accepting a bribe from Ayub Ali at the Circle Office premises in Morigaon.
According to the available information, Nabajyoti Nath initially demanded Rs 75,000 as a bribe, but later agreed to a reduced amount of Rs 30,000 through mutual understanding. On Monday, Ayub Ali, the complainant, arrived at the Morigaon Circle Office to offer an advance payment of Rs 15,000 out of the agreed sum of Rs 25,000. The CM’s Vigilance & Anti-Corruption team swiftly apprehended Nabajyoti Nath as he accepted the bribe from Ayub Ali.
