HOWRAGHAT, Jan 19: In a major initiative to enhance land security for local residents, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Dr Tuliram Ronghang, distributed free land settlement certificates (pattas) to 3,633 beneficiaries recently.
The distribution ceremony was held at the Dengaon Sports Association playground, covering the Na-mati and Mahamaya Council constituencies in the Dengaon area of Karbi Anglong.
Dr Ronghang stated that the KAAC has already issued one lakh free land pattas across the district to date and assured those yet to receive their documents that the process is ongoing, with no eligible person being left out.
Addressing public grievances, the CEM announced that formal tenders for developmental works based on constituency applications will be issued in February. He also reassured residents regarding the Orunodoi scheme, confirming that benefits will reach all eligible citizens.
During the event, Dr Ronghang engaged with the public on the upcoming political landscape, seeking continued support for Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership to maintain the region’s development momentum.
The ceremony saw participation from prominent local leaders, including Darsing Ronghang, MLA; Executive Members Ritesh Enghi, Lunsing Teron, Madhurjya Dhekial Phukan and Richard Tokbi; KAAC Chairman Raju Tisso and former EM Ratan Teron.
