DIPHU, March 13: Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for allocating budget for the overall development of Karbi Anglong.
CEM Ronghang said this during a sideline programme of the Public interaction program for Amreng constituency at Taskai, Rongnihang village in West Karbi Anglong on Wednesday.
Ronghang, said, “This year, the Assam budget for the financial year 2025-26 has increased funds by 5%. Last year, we received Rs 400 crore in the State Owned Priority Development (SOPD) fund, but this financial year, Rs 421 crore has been allocated, representing a 5% increase. Additionally, a special fund of Rs 200 crore has been added, bringing the total to Rs 621 crore.”
Notably, infrastructure projects have been included in the budget for the construction of an Agriculture college, Veterinary college, and Sainik School in Karbi Anglong, with estimated costs of Rs 206 crore, Rs 374 crore, and Rs 375 crore, respectively.
