DIPHU, Nov 8: Surjya Rongphar, Executive Member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), escaped unharmed after his Innova car skidded off the road and plunged into nearby bushes earlier on Saturday.

Sources said the vehicle lost control due to a slip on the uneven surface. Quick reflexes by the driver and the presence of dense bushes minimised the impact, preventing serious injury.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that while the car was damaged, Rongphar and his accompanying team remained safe. Party colleagues, well-wishers and members expressed relief and gratitude for his safety.

Rongphar is reported to be in good health and has assured everyone of his well-being.
