DIPHU, Nov 4: Executive member (EM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Education, Richard Tokbi said that the KAAC is waiting for the grant-in-aid to pay the salaries of the adhoc teachers of ME, High and Higher Secondary schools.
KAAC has come under criticism for not paying the salaries of adhoc teachers by the Karbi Students Association (Semson Teron).
Clarifying the position of KAAC at the Secretariat, EM Tokbi said, “As soon as the grant–in-aid (GIA) is released by the State government their salaries will be transferred into their accounts in online mode. As the online process is new for us it has taken some time. But within a few days, it will be done.”
The EM appreciated chief executive member (CEM), KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang for his initiative to enhance the salaries of teachers in adhoc ME and higher schools.
As per enhanced salaries the headmaster of adhoc ME schools will get Rs 12,150 per month from the present Rs 5,545; the assistant teacher Rs 10,800 and Grade-IV salary will be Rs 8,000 per month.
As per the new salary structure, principals will get Rs 20,700 per month, and vice principals Rs 16,200 per month. All the subject teachers/lecturers and headmasters will get Rs 16,200 per month. Demonstrators and assistant headmasters will get Rs 14,400 per month, assistant teachers will get Rs 12,600 per month, UDA will get Rs 12,400 per month, LDA and Library Assistant/ Laboratory Assistant will get Rs 10,600 per month and Grade-IV will get Rs 8000 per month.
Regarding the teachers of provincialised colleges and contractual teachers of Diphu Govt College, the new pay structure will be such that the principals will get Rs 36,000 per month, vice principals will get Rs 30,000 per month, assistant professors/lecturers will be getting Rs 27,000, librarians will get Rs 27,000, UDA will get Rs 12,000 and LDA and Library Assistant will get Rs 10,600 per month and Grade-IV/ laboratory bearers will be getting Rs 8000 per month.
