KANCH water bottling plant inaugurated in Baithalangso

DIPHU, Oct 1: The package drinking (PD) water bottling plant – IV of Assam Hills Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (AHSIDC) under the brand ‘KANCH’ (Karbi Anglong and NC Hills), set up at Baithalangso Bi-Vopi Kramsa village, was inaugurated by Baithalangso MLA Rupsing Teron in the presence of Diphu MLA and chairman, AHSIDC, Bidya Sing Engleng; AHSIDC vice chairman Arun Terang; vice chairman and executive members (EMs), KAAC, Prabhat Ch Taro and D Uphing Maslai; and additional chief secretary to the government of Assam, Hills Area Department, Biswaranjan Sarma. Trial production of PD is being carried out at the bottling plant.

Speaking at the inaugural function of the bottling plant, MLA Rupsing Teron urged the public to cooperate by using it and by buying the KANCH water bottle and other products, as it is a local brand and a state-owned company, AHSIDC.

MLA and chairman, AHSIDC, Engleng said, “As chairman of AHSIDC, I am very delighted to inaugurate the water bottling plant of KANCH and to hand over the PD Water Bottling Plant-IV to MLA Rupsing Teron. AscChairman of AHSIDC, I am proud to see this project become operational, empowering local communities and boosting economic growth in West Karbi Anglong.”

This initiative under AHSIDC is a significant step towards making Assam self-reliant and prosperous, Engleng said, and urged support for the local brand KANCH by buying the PD water bottles, juice, jam, jelly, mustard oil, pickles, and other products of the brand.

The inaugural function was also attended by KANCH managing director Dhonsing Lekthe; director AHSIDC Moon Engtipi; chairman, Taxation Advisory Board, KAAC, Lipson Bey; and chairman, Baithalangso Town Committee, Chandra Ronghang.
