DIPHU, June 12: Karbi students residing in Shillong came together to organise a momentous welcoming program for the newly elected office bearers of the Karbi Students Association, Shillong. The event took place on Sunday at Shillong and marked the election of John Ingti Kathar as the president and Harbamon Terang as the general secretary for the 2023-2024 session.
The KSA, Shillong, in an official statement, expressed their enthusiasm about the revival of the association after a hiatus of nearly three years. The primary objectives of the revived KSA, Shillong include fostering mutual support among students, cultivating a conducive environment for lifelong learning, promoting coordination and governance among students for the betterment of society, fostering close relationships among outgoing members to facilitate educational development, and establishing a helpful ‘help desk’ for students aspiring to pursue their studies in Shillong.
The program witnessed the esteemed presence of RR Ronghang, president of the All Meghalaya Karbi Association, and Albinus Timung, president of the Karbi Cultural Society – Meghalaya Xone, who graced the occasion with their presence.
