Kokrajhar reviews progress of HPV vaccination programme

KOKRAJHAR, May 14: The second District Task Force meeting on HPV Vaccination 2026 was held at the conference hall of the Joint Director of Health Services office in Kokrajhar on Thursday to review the performance and progress of the vaccination programme in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Commissioner (Health) Banti Talukdar, officials of the Directorate of Health Services, BTC and representatives of various concerned departments.

During the meeting, D Bhowal delivered a detailed presentation on Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination, highlighting the objectives, importance, present status and district-wise progress of the programme.

A block-wise review of HPV vaccination performance under Kokrajhar district was also conducted, with discussions focusing on identifying challenges and improving outreach among target beneficiaries.

The meeting stressed the need for extensive sensitisation of parents, teachers and school authorities to ensure greater acceptance and participation in the vaccination programme.

Officials also discussed various measures to strengthen coordination among departments and improve the effectiveness of implementation.

It was decided that awareness meetings involving parents and teachers would be organised in schools to encourage participation in the programme.
