DIPHU, May 22: The Karbi Students’ Association (KSA-Inglongpho) extended financial assistance to 60 aspirants from Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong appearing for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), according to the association.
The support, meant to cover travel expenses to various CUET exam centres in the region, was distributed during an event held at the KSA Central Committee office in Rongthe-ang, Diphu.
KSA General Secretary Barnabas Killing said the absence of a CUET examination centre in Karbi Anglong—a Sixth Schedule district—poses annual challenges for local students, some of whom struggle to afford travel costs.
He noted that the financial aid was made possible through support from Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang.
Killing also stated that CEM Ronghang has assured the KSA delegation that efforts will be made to establish a CUET centre in Karbi Anglong by next year.
He expressed gratitude for the CEM’s timely assistance.
The distribution event was attended by KSA President Bhudho Terang, Office Secretary Pinpo Teron, and other officials of the student body.
