KHERONI, July 21: The Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) celebrated its 66th Foundation Day with colourful events across Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts, with major programmes held in Ai’ih (West Karbi Anglong), Bokajan, Howraghat, and Diphu.
The central programme in Diphu, organised by the KSA Central Executive Committee (CEC), was chaired by KSA President Budho Terang and assisted by General Secretary Barnabas Killing.
The day began with a bike rally as part of an anti-drugs campaign, aimed at raising awareness among the youth against substance abuse.
The celebration witnessed participation from former KSA presidents, secretaries, office bearers, student organisations from across Assam, prominent leaders, well-wishers, and supporters.
Executive Member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Prabhat Chandra Taro, attended the Diphu programme as the Chief Guest on behalf of KAAC Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang.
Other dignitaries included MAC (Nominated) Phenpiga Rengma, Board Chairman Mohan Tisso, and other notable personalities.
In his address, Taro lauded the KSA for its six-decade-long contribution to protecting the rights and interests of the Karbi people.
The programme reaffirmed the association’s commitment to social causes and community welfare.
