KSA-Inglongpho wins five key posts in AUDC election

DIPHU, Nov 11: In the Assam University Diphu Campus Students Union (AUDCSU) election for the academic session 2025-26, candidates backed by the Karbi Students Association (KSA-Inglongpho) won five out of eight major posts. Voting, counting and results were declared on Monday at AUDC, Lumding Road. Among the six KSA-backed candidates, Ashwinson Teron lost the post of assistant general secretary.

The five winning posts for KSA-Inglongpho backed candidates are: Juwel Kro as president, Solomon Ingti as vice president, Songsar Ronghang as general secretary, Sarbong Hanse as sports secretary and Angtong Lekthe as magazine secretary. The posts of assistant general secretary and cultural secretary were won by Sarpangri Teron and Sarningme Teron of KSA-Lumding Road, while Nancy Rani Timungpi won the reserved seat for girl students as assistant general secretary.

Departmental counselors were also appointed: Abolon Taro for Geography, Bikash Khaklary for Life Science and Bioinformatics, Jitumoni Pator for Assamese and Samuel Phangcho for Anthropology.

Celebrating their victory, the winning candidates took out a bike rally from AUDC to the KSA-Inglongpho Central Executive Committee (CEC) office at Rongtheang. A short felicitation program was held at the KSA office, where candidates were honoured with bouquets and Karbi traditional turbans.

KSA-Inglongpho president Budho Terang congratulated the winners, calling it a significant achievement. He assured support to AUDCSU for the welfare and development of the campus. General secretary Barnabas Killing added that KSA remains committed to collaborating with AUDCSU on campus issues and initiatives. The felicitation was attended by KSA-Inglongpho CEC members, including vice president George Timung, assistant general secretary Probinson Engleng, finance secretary Baliram Engti and office secretary Pinpo Teron.
