Guwahati, July 6: Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) is thrilled to unveil its upgraded facilities, designed to enhance the passenger and airline experience. These modifications reflect the airport’s unwavering commitment to excellence and aim to establish it as a leading aviation hub in North East India.
One of the major improvements has been made to the Baggage Handling System (BHS). This includes the addition of conveyor belts and the creation of wall cutouts, ensuring seamless connectivity to check-in counters. The installation of new check-in counters has also been carried out to enhance operational efficiency and customer service. The strategic layout of these counters has been thoughtfully planned to provide passengers with a pleasant check-in experience.
Significant civil work has been completed in the Baggage Makeup Area (BMA) and Baggage Breakup Area (BBA), including floor maintenance and shed construction. These upgrades have significantly improved baggage handling effectiveness, resulting in a smoother transfer of luggage and ensuring timely delivery to passengers.
Furthermore, extensive renovations have been undertaken in the washrooms of both the Baggage Makeup Area (BMA) and Security Hold Area (SHA) at the airport. The updated restrooms now offer improved sanitary hygiene, enhanced hygiene protocols, and increased accessibility. LGBIA remains dedicated to providing a top-notch travel experience for its passengers, maintaining seamless collaboration with its airline partners.
