Local Chicks distributed by Department of Agriculture to Self Help Groups

Hamren: As an initiative to assist women welfare under the scheme Agriculture Technology Management Agency (CSS-ATMA) 2023-24, local chicks were provided to women self -help groups in Socheng and Dongkamukam Agriculture Development Office (ADO) Circles under West Karbi Anglong District today by the Department of Agriculture.

The local chicks were distributed to the President and Secretary of Angtong, Sajir, Chiri & Nirmali Self Help Group under Socheng ADO Circle by the Agricuture Development Officer of Socheng ADO Circle, Mr. Debajit Saikia.

Local Chicks were also distributed to the President, Secretary and Members of SERLONGCHOR NIMSO CHINGTHUR Self-Help Group, KLIMSO Self-Help Group, RIPTHIP Self-help Group, LAKHIMI Self-Help Group of Dongkamukam under Dongkamukam ADO Circle, West Karbi Anglong.

Apart from that, a one-day Farmer’s Training (within the State) was also conducted at Dongkamukam Cluster Hall under the scheme CSS- ATMA-2023-24 today. Farmers, especially women showed active participation in the training program. The training was provided by the Agriculture Development Officer of Dongkamukam ADO Circle, Mr. Mantu Saikia.

The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (CSS-ATMA) is a district level public extension agency responsible for technology management and dissemination activities at the district level. The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (CSS-ATMA) was established in order to make the extension system farmer-driven and farmer responsible.

The ATMA concept involves creating an independent registered society with participation from the several stakeholders in agricultural development, as well as implementing an integrated extension delivery system at the district level. SAMETI oversees and keeps an eye on ATMA.
