Marwari Hospitals organises CME program

GUWAHATI, Aug 7: A successful CME program was held and concluded at Hotel Viswaratna. It was organised by Marwari Hospitals, powered by Omron Academy on Saturday in association with Indian Society of Hypertension. The program started around 7:30 pm and ended around 10:00 pm with speeches from 77 doctors from across the city who attended the program.
The programme started with the topic ‘Hypertension in Pregnancy’ in which Dr Kanchan Murarka, MD, O & G was the speaker. Dr. M.K.Keshan and Dr. Deepak Goenka were the respective chairman in the following session.
The next session started with ‘Errors in Measurement of Blood Pressure’ as the topic, where speaker Dr Rituparna Baruah, DM, Cardiology deliberately explained the errors in the measurement of blood pressure and also its effects. Renowned doctors, Dr Indra Kuladhipati and Dr John Sangma were the chairman for the session.
The third session was regarding the screening and early diagnosis to prevent complications in hypertension Dr Dinesh Agarwal, HoD Medicine, Marwari Hospitals, senior consultant and internist in Diabetology was the speaker. The chairman in this session was Dr S Medhi and Dr Dhiren Ingti.
The last and the final session of the CME program was a panel discussion regarding hypertension where Dr B B Kukreja, MD was the moderator. The panelists in the last session were Dr Rituparna Baruah, Dr Swati Jalan, Dr Dinesh Agarwal, Dr Abhamoni Agarwal, Dr Kanchan Murarka, Dr Tadbir Agarwala and Dr Sudha Agarwal. The panel discussion was concluded with a question-answer round. The panel discussion was followed by dinner.
Diagnosed Hypertension in the population is like a tip of an iceberg. It can quietly damage vital organs. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to serious complications. Early diagnosis and proper management reduce the risk of life-threatening complications. This CME was aimed to provide comprehensive knowledge, skills and attitude development regarding hypertension and its implication. This CME was organised to sensitise interns, PG students, nurses and practitioners regarding hypertension with an overview on correct measurement of blood pressure and early diagnosis to prevent its complications.
