Memorandum To CM For Ward Removal From Municipality Board

DEMOW, March 22: Tilok Barua, president and Sanjay Kahar, secretary of 9 No Ward Withdrawal Committee and with the sign of both of them in the memorandum was submitted to state chief minister through Demow circle officer on Wednesday demanding withdrawal of  ward no 9 from Demow Municipality Board.

In the memorandum they stated that the inhabitants of the ward of Demow Municipality Board does not have the ability to stay in municipality area as most of the people use to earn their livelihood through daily wage and there were BPL and tea labourers working in tea estate.

They alleged that there was no meeting held and without people’s views the area was transfered from Demow Gaon Panchayat to Demow Municipality Board.

The Demow Municipality Board has issued property tax for which no any people of the ward agree. Regarding this on March 19, 2023 a public meeting was held where a proposal was taken to appeal for withdrawal of the ward from Demow Municipality Board.
