Addressing the gathering, Minister Singhal emphasized the importance of personal responsibility in maintaining health. He stated, “Health is our personal issue. The government can only provide treatment, but we must take responsibility for staying healthy ourselves.” He advocated for healthy eating habits, a controlled lifestyle, and regular physical activity, including yoga and exercise.

Highlighting the role of a healthy society in achieving a self-reliant Assam, the Minister urged the public to adopt good health practices as a mass movement. He encouraged everyone to consume fully boiled food without oil and spices at least once a week and to reduce oil usage in their daily meals.

Minister Singhal also lauded the state’s health sector revival under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. He emphasized that these health and wellness camps aim to create public awareness about preventive healthcare and various health-related programs. The camps would educate people about the prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases and promote physical fitness.

Key Services available at Health and Wellness Camps are maternal and child health check-ups, screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure, oral cancer, and mental health issues, check-ups for tuberculosis, leprosy, malaria, and sickle cell disease; eye, ear, nose, and dental care services, teleconsultations and general health check-ups; yoga, meditation, and nutritional counseling alongwith various public awareness activities. Minister Singhal urged the people of Sonitpur to actively participate in these camps and take advantage of the available health services. He encouraged everyone to spread health awareness and contribute to the vision of a healthier Assam.
