GOSSAIGAON, April 3: Cabinet minister Ashok Singhal virtually inaugurated a newly constructed Ram Temple at Takampur in Kachugaon on Thursday.
The temple was inaugurated ceremonially, and ritual consecration of the idol of Lord Shri Ram was performed with religious fervor amid the presence of Ram devotees.
Since minister Ashok Singhal could not attend the ceremony in person due to other commitments, he virtually inaugurated the temple and extended his greetings and gratitude to the Ram devotees of Kachugaon.
It is noteworthy that nearly two years ago, Hindu residents of the tribal-dominated Kachugaon region had appealed to Minister Ashok Singhal for the construction of a Ram temple.
Supporting their demand, Minister Singhal took the personal initiative and funded the construction of a magnificent temple.
Although he could not be physically present at the inauguration, but virtually dedicated the temple to the people of Kachugaon.
After the temple’s inauguration, the unveiling of Lord Ram’s idol was carried out by Shatadal Kundu, the district in charge of the RSS Dhubri unit.
The event was attended by BTC Executive Member Arup Kumar Dey, Kokrajhar district BJP president Gosai Basumatary, and vice president Jethmal Malu, along with various leaders from RSS and VHP, as well as Adivasi Welfare and Development Council chairman Ashim Hasda, along with representatives of different Adivasi organisations and local residents.
It is worth mentioning that the construction of the Ram temple was supervised by Gosai Malu, a young businessman from Gossaigaon and the vice president of the BJP Kokrajhar district committee, under the close guidance of Minister Ashok Singhal.
The temple was built in a short period, and on Thursday, the Pran Pratistha ceremony of Lord Shri Ram was performed.
The people of Kachugaon, along with the temple management committee, expressed their gratitude to Minister Singhal and his close associate, Jethmal Malu, for fulfilling their long-cherished dream.
Leaders of the RSS commented that the establishment of this Ram temple in a remote tribal-dominated area would increase religious spirit and devotion among the local people and significantly contribute to the spread and promotion of Hinduism in the region.
