KOKRAJHAR, Feb 5: A delegation team from the Missing Autonomous Council (MAC), comprising executive member (EM) and general members of the council along with weavers, are on an exposure visit to the Bodoland Territorial Region.
The visit is meant to study the Bodoland Handloom Mission and other handloom developmental initiatives.
The delegation team on Tuesday arrived and visited the Integrated Textile Park (ITP) Karuajan, Baksa and the ANT campus in Chirang, where they engaged with experts and gained firsthand insights into innovative handloom practices.
The visit was facilitated by the department of handloom & textiles, govt of Bodoland Territorial Region ensuring meaningful discussions on key aspects of BTR’s handloom ecosystem, production techniques, and market linkages.
The visit aims to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration between the two regions, helping the MAC delegation explore strategies to enhance the handloom sector in Missing areas.
The MAC team members have expressed their gratitude and thanks to the BTR government authorities and concerned departmental officials for according warm welcome and felicitation during their schedule visit.
“We are hopeful that the visit is boosting a strong communication between the two regions in days to come,” said an official of the Missing Autonomous Council.
