Dipayan arranged cooked meals for 1000 flood affected people residing in the region.

Expressing his concern on the condition of flood victims, Dipayan said, “Today, I along with my fellow members of the Indian Red Cross Society, Silchar visited the flood-hit Tapoban Nagar village under Ambikapur GP and served cooked meals to 1000 flood affected people in that region.”

“We also supplied baby foods and other essentials to the locals. I also arranged home delivery for those who could not be physically present during our food camp. I and the entire Red Cross Society were assisted by the SDRF team who helped us by providing two boats to reach our destination,” he added.

“I also extend my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation towards the Indian Red Cross Society for their relentless pursuit in reaching out to anyone in need over the years. I, being the secretary of the prestigious organisation, take pride and honour in this fact always,” quipped Silchar MLA Dipayan.

It is pertinent to mention that initiatives and efforts taken by Silchar MLA Dipayan waded through waist-deep floodwater to reach out to people residing in far-flung flood-hit areas in some of the remotest parts of Silchar.

This is stated in a press release issued from regional office and public relations Barak valley zone, Assam.
