BISWANATH CHARIALI, Oct 31: Naduar LAC MLA Padma Hazarika on Friday inaugurated a newly constructed classroom building at Siporiya Higher Secondary School in the southern part of Sootea. The event was attended by members of the School Management and Development Committee (SMDC), teachers, students, guardians and local residents.
The additional classroom was built with financial assistance from Samagra Shiksha, Assam. Addressing a public meeting held in the school’s conference hall, chaired by SMDC president Moti Kumar Newar, MLA Hazarika announced a grant of Rs 5 lakh from his MLA fund for constructing a cycle stand inside the school campus. During the visit, he was apprised of the shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff in the school. Hazarika assured that the issue would be resolved within November this year.
