MORIGAON, Jan 28: The Morigaon book fair, which was started in 1997 with the aim of creating study habits and intellectual environment in Morigaon, is celebrating its 28th anniversary this year. The Morigaon Book Fair is being held for five days. On the fourth day of the event, a poem recitation programme was held at Morigaon Padum Pukhuri.
The event was conducted by Utpal Nath, Professor of Mayang Anchalik College. In his inaugural address, Rajiv Bhattacharya said that poems should always be sensitive. If a poet can write poems that can have an impact on people and society, he will always be appreciated by the readers. The event was hosted by poet Rajiv Chaharia and was attended by prominent writer Mileshwar Patar, artist and poet Anirudh Deka. The event was attended by the vice-president of the Morigaon District Poets’ Association Madhav Deka, senior journalist Jagdish Nath, organising secretary of the All Assam Poets’ Association Bhaven Chandra Nath and others. The second session of the program was conducted by the president of the Morigaon Sakha of the SALSS Reena Deka. On Tuesday the book fair concluded with various programme at Padum Pukhuri.
