Morigaon youth receives CLEF Music Award

MORIGAON, July 9: A Morigaon youth has received two CLEF music awards for the song’ Koi Nidiya Kiyaw’

‘Koi Nidiya Kiyaw’ is sung by Papon Mahanta and Shreya Ghoshal and the Assamese song’s lyrics was written by Keshab Nayan, a Morigaon based youth of central Assam who brought laurel by receiving two ‘CLEF’music-2023 awards which was  presented to him at the ‘CLEF Award -2023’ function held  at Andheri in Mumbai on June 28.

The song ‘Koi Nidiya Kiyaw’ bagged two ‘CLEF’awards as folk song  in two categories ‘Best Lyrics’ and ‘Best Assamese Folk song’ in the national level.

The song ‘Koi Nidiya Kiyaw’ was first composed  in Bodo and Tiwa  languages and was  released on April 12.The song ‘Koi Nidiya Kiyaw’ became popular soon after release of the video by popular  musician  Manash Hazarika and enacted by noted singer Papon Mahanta, Shreya Ghosal, Joy Saikia and Keshab Nayan. Moreover the song titled ‘Tumar Katha’ sung by noted singer Papon Mahanta and composed by popular musician Manash Hazarika where Keshab Nayan wrote the lyrics of the song.

The ‘CLEF’ awardee Keshab Nayan had started his career as a lyricist with the song ‘ Sewali’ in 2018. He also wrote lyrics of ‘ Tumar Katha’,’Ranga Zia’,’Bukur Run-jun’ and ‘Tumi Aha Jen Lage’.

Keshab Nayan is the son of retired teacher Ayodha Narayan Adhikari and Dineshwari Devi of Kumuraguri, Morigaon.

Keshab Nayan (Keshab Adhikari) is performing an officer of North-East Small Finance,Guwahati.

The people of Morigaon greeted the local hero for receiving two ‘CLEF’ awards in national level.
