Rangsina Sarpo Award: Borlongki Timung, Malin Tissopi get awards

DIPHU, April 6: Si-im Singnar and Kache Engtipi received the Best Rangsina Sarpo Folk Artiste award in male and female categories respectively for the year 2022 and were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 each along with a trophy and certificate.

The awards were given away by chief executive member (CEM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang in a glittering function of the 11th Rangsina Sarpo Film Award and Rangsina Sarpo Folk Artiste Award for 2022 held at Sarsing Teron (Langkung Habe) Memorial Town Hall, Matipung on the evening of April 4.
Like every year the Cultural Affairs Department, KAAC has organised the Rangsina Sarpo Film Award for film personalities and also the Rangsina Sarpo Folk Artiste Award for folk artists. The programme was organised with Karbi Film Society.
The evening also witnessed the presentation of the Best Karbi feature film and this year the film ‘Mirbeen’ has won the award. The film is produced under the banner of Wojaru Cini Arts Productions. It carried a cash prize of Rs. 25, 000 along with a trophy and certificate.
The film also carried most of the awards. Malin Tissopi has won the Best Actor Female award for ‘Mirbeen’ and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 along with a trophy and certificate. The best Director went to Mridul Gupta. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 17,000, a trophy and certificate and the Best Film editor went to Utpal Buragohain receiving a cash prize of Rs. 7,000 along with a trophy and certificate.
The film also bagged for the Best Script Writer by Manimala Das receiving a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 along with a trophy and certificate, Best Supporting Actor in the male category was bagged Rajib Kro and Best Supporting Actor in the female category went to Rengka Engtipi. They received a cash prize of Rs. 7,000 a trophy and a certificate. Beset Art Director was bagged by Bidyasing Phangcho and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 8000, a trophy and certificate, Best Cinematography by Pradip Diamary and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 including trophy and certificate and Best Custom Designer went to Longki Teron and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 8,000 including trophy and certificate.
The film also bagged the Best Music Director award by Pansing Kro receiving a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 including a trophy and certificate and best make-up by Achauba Laishram and awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 8,000 including a trophy and certificate.
The Best Actor in male went to Borlongki Timung for the film ‘Khamkhe.’ He was given a consolation prize of cash Rs. 5,000 including a trophy and certificate. The film also bagged the Best Actor in the negative role by Crosswell Timung and received a cash prize of Rs. 7,000 including a trophy and certificate and Best Child Artist by Sardili Terang and received a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 including trophy and certificate. The Best Lyricist went to On Teron for the song sintuben in the film ‘Alar’. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 8,000 along with a trophy and certificate. The film also bagged the Best Playback Singer in the male by Prem Terang and in female category to Nitu Timungpi for the song sintuben. Both received a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 along with a trophy and certificate respectively.
It also bagged the Best Comedian award by Bidyasing Teron and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and Best Choreographer by Ruplin Teronpi and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 7,000 including a trophy and certificate.
This year the Special Jury Award went to the film ‘Rongpharpi Rongbe’ and received a cash award of Rs. 5,000 including a trophy and certificate.
Besides film personalities there were dignitaries including chairman of KAAC Longki Timung; MLA Rupsing Teron, executive members of KAAC, member of Autonomous Council and Padmashree Dhaneswar Engti and deputy director, Cultural Affairs Rani Terangpi witnessed the award-giving function.
