JORHAT, May 18: Assam minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Ranjeet Dass along with Jorhat Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs – Topon Kumar Gogoi and Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Jorhat MLA Hitendra Nath Goswami and senior district administration and police officials visited the Jorhat Court Field on Thursday evening to take stock of the arrangements for ceremonial release of PMAY- G funds by chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Speaking to newspersons at the Jorhat Court Field, Dass said that altogether Rs 7739.5 crores will be spent for the beneficiaries and in the first installment Rs 1657.5 crores will be released to the beneficiaries.
He said that from Jorhat district 12000 beneficiaries have been selected under the said scheme. The minister said that it was a huge initiative by the state government led by Sarma with the support from the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said that a series of developmental projects have been initiated by the state government in the past one year and more were on the pipeline.
