KHERONI, March 15: A one-day awareness and capacity-building programme titled “MY Bharat Yuva Mandal Vikas Abhiyan” was successfully organised on Sunday by MY Bharat Kendra, Diphu, Karbi Anglong, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The event was held in collaboration with the Subaltern Development Club at Navodeep Higher Secondary School under Socheng Block.
The programme focused on integrating rural and marginalised youth into the mainstream of national development. It aimed to generate awareness, offer practical guidance and inspire active participation in social and economic progress, aligning with the broader goals of MY Bharat (Mera Yuva Bharat) to build a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
The inaugural session was chaired by Biresh Prasad, Principal of Navodeep Higher Secondary School. Distinguished speakers included Dr Rajesh Kumar Chauhan, Head of Department, TNB College, who motivated young participants to contribute actively to nation-building; Chhotelal Chauhan, Head of Department, Kapili College, who urged rural youth to become resourceful individuals and work selflessly for the betterment of society and Jeetendra Harijan, Vice Principal of Kapili College, who delivered a detailed session on the formation and management of youth clubs, including essential aspects of bookkeeping and record maintenance.
More than 50 youths from various villages and existing youth clubs across Socheng Block enthusiastically participated in the programme.
Organisers expressed hope that such initiatives will strengthen grassroots youth leadership and foster greater community involvement in developmental activities across the region.
This event is part of ongoing efforts under the MY Bharat Yuva Mandal Vikas Abhiyan to empower young citizens in rural and tribal areas of Assam.
