GUWAHATI, Nov 21: The North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) observed Vigilance Awareness Week from October 30 to November 5, 2023, in various offices and projects across the country, following the guidelines of the Central Vigilance Commission. The theme for this year’s Vigilance Awareness Week was “Say no to corruption; commit to the Nation.”

The awareness week, observed annually during the week of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birthday (October 31), reaffirms the commitment to promoting integrity and probity in public life through citizen participation. NEEPCO believes that corruption hinders the nation’s progress, emphasizing the need for vigilance across all sections of society.

On October 30, 2023, the chief vigilance officer (CVO) administered the pledge at the headquarters, with senior officers from technical, finance, and human resource wings in attendance. Similar pledge administrations occurred in Guwahati office and other projects/offices, conducted by Heads of Projects (HOPs) or Senior Most Officers.

Banners displaying the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2023, along with banners promoting awareness about a Corruption-Free India for a developed nation, were prominently placed in all NEEPCO offices.

Special activities, such as volleyball competitions, walkathons, debates, quiz competitions, essay writing competitions, and essay and drawing competitions in schools, were organized to raise awareness about corruption and the importance of vigilance.

The events aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and commitment to integrity among NEEPCO employees and the communities they serve.
