Newly Elected Ward Commissioners Of Dibrugarh Municipal Board Takes Oath

DIBRUGARH, April 22: The oath taking ceremony of the newly elected ward commissioners of the Dibrugarh Municipal Board was held at the Dibrugarh Municipal Board premises on Thursday.

Dr Saikat Patra was sworn in as the chairman and Ujjal Phukan as vice-chairman of the board.

Speaking to media persons, Union minister of state for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Labour and Employment Rameswar Teli said, “We are busy in Guwahati Municipal elections campaigning for the past many days and due to that the oath taking ceremony has gone late. But finally today the oath taking ceremony has been completed. People have voted for them now it is time to work for the development of Dibrugarh Municipal Board.”

Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan said, “Out of 22 wards, we have won in 21 wards of DMB. People have voted for us for the second time, now it is time for our ward commissioners to work for the development of the city.”

Dr Saikat Patra, the newly elected chairman of DMB told media persons that their main priority is drainage and street lights.

When asked about the parking of Dibrugarh, Dr Saikat Patra replied, “There is a lack of parking space in Dibrugarh town. We all will work and try our best to solve the problem.”
