GUWAHATI, June 23: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has undertaken a series of special measures to facilitate the smooth movement of pilgrims arriving for the Ambubachi Mela at Kamakhya Temple, one of the region’s most significant spiritual events.
According to an official statement, NFR has set up round-the-clock special ticket counters at Kamakhya and Guwahati railway stations to manage the surge in passenger footfall and ensure quick and hassle-free ticketing for devotees.
In a welfare initiative, the Northeast Frontier Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (NFRWWO), under the leadership of its president Shalini Shrivastava, has been distributing hygienically packed food and drinking water to pilgrims at Kamakhya station and its vicinity.
To address the increased passenger demand, NFR will operate two pairs of special unreserved trains.

The NFR urged all passengers to cooperate with railway personnel to ensure a safe and convenient travel experience during the Ambubachi Mela.
