NFR announces train cancellations, diversions, and rescheduling

GUWAHATI, Sept 29: In light of ongoing infrastructure development works, the Northeast Frontier Railway has issued a notification detailing the cancellation, diversion, and rescheduling of several train services. These adjustments are necessary to facilitate Non-Interlocking and Pre-Non-Interlocking activities, as well as the construction and TRD (Track Renewal and Maintenance) block operations.

A series of train services, including the Katihar-Siliguri Intercity Express, Siliguri-Balurghat Intercity Express, Radhikapur-Siliguri DEMU Special, and Malda Court-Siliguri DEMU Special, among others, have been cancelled for journeys commencing on specific dates in October.

Certain trains, such as the Sealdah-Alipurduar Kanchankanya Express, Delhi-Alipurduar Sikkim Mahananda Express, and Rajendranagar Terminal-Kamakhya Capital Express, will be rerouted via alternate routes during their journeys on particular dates. These diversions are necessary to avoid the construction zones and guarantee passengers’ convenience.

Similarly, train services like the Alipurduar-Sealdah Kanchankanya Express, Alipurduar-Delhi Sikkim Mahananda Express, and New Jalpaiguri-Rajendranagar Terminal Capital Express will take alternate routes to circumvent the construction sites on specific dates in October, ensuring minimal disruptions for passengers.

One train, the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, will be diverted via a different route on a particular date to accommodate the infrastructure development works effectively.

Several train services have been rescheduled to different departure times to accommodate the construction and maintenance activities. This includes the New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, New Jalpaiguri-New Delhi Express, Rajendranagar Terminal-Kamakhya Capital Express, and others.

Additionally, due to Pre Non-Interlocking & Non-Interlocking works at Rourkela Station yard in the Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway, specific train services, such as the Kamakhya-Lokmanya Tilak Express and Lokmanya Tilak-Kamakhya Express, will remain cancelled on particular dates.

These adjustments are vital to facilitate crucial infrastructure development projects, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the railway network in the region. Passengers are encouraged to stay updated on the status of their trains and plan their journeys accordingly during this period of necessary maintenance and upgrades.
