GUWAHATI, June 26: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has shown steady progress in its freight loading operations, recording a loading of 0.885 million tonnes (MT) in the month of May 2023. In the previous financial year 2022-23, NFR loaded a total of 11.98 MT of freight, marking a significant increase of 15.19 percent compared to the loading of 10.40 MT in the financial year 2021-22.
During the month of May 2023, there was notable growth in the loading of various commodities. Food grain loading increased by 21.2 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Additionally, dolomite loading witnessed a growth of 22.8 percent, and container loading increased by 12.5 percent.
All divisions under the jurisdiction of NFR have contributed to this noteworthy performance in freight loading, resulting in a substantial increase in goods revenue during the last financial year. This upward trend in freight loading reflects the thriving economic activities in the region.
