An ME school teacher, Moneswar Kalita of Rong Ar-e ME School went missing on August 30 while on his way to school. Later, his bike was found by the roadside of a hill.

KAMTA said when there is peace prevailing in the district such an act is a threat to the life of teachers who are teaching in interior areas of Karbi Anglong. The teacher organisation urged that more effort should be put into the search for Kalita.
